Make way for new features!

Hey, friends! There are a few recent Asana updates I’m especially excited about, so I want to clue you in. They’re super flashy, but they quietly improve how work gets done. These features address some of the most common friction points I see my clients facing day-to-day. Fewer manual steps, clearer structure, and less reinventing the wheel every time a new project kicks off? Say less.

Here are a few worth having on your radar:

  • Saved Project Views in Templates– You can now save project views directly in templates, which means less rework and more consistency when spinning up new projects. Gone are the days of a persistent “Instructions,” task explaining how to customize your views upon project creation. If you rely on custom views on your templates this one’s a quiet but meaningful upgrade. ➛ Check out Asana’s post for more info.

  • Reference Fields– We love to see it when a platform implements real user feedback into their features. This is a small feature with big potential. Reference fields make it easier to standardize key information across projects without duplicating effort. I just posted a new blog fully dedicated to my obsession with this feature!

  • Custom Task Types– If you’ve ever wanted tasks to behave differently based on the kind of work they represent, custom task types open up a lot of flexibility. Done thoughtfully, they can transform how you address complex use-cases within Asana. ➛ Check out this helpful forum post to get the scoop.

These features (and more) will be making a cameo in my Asana 201: Beyond the Fundamentals tomorrow, there’s still time to register!

Your Asana BFF,
Kelly
